Premier league title defenders, Bantu got back to winning ways with a 2-0 victory over Sefotha-Fotha which saw them end a five-match winless streak in a tie that took place at Ratjomose Ground, in Maseru on Saturday.

It was a TÅ¡epang Sefali show as the striker scored in both halves to hand Thabo TÅ¡utsulupa his first win since taking over the reins as Bantu coach.

The Mafeteng based outfit were coming from a 1-all draw with LCS last in the previous week while their opponents Sefotha-fotha, are currently rock bottom of the league with nine points were coming from their first win having edged Lifofane 0-1.

Although Sefotha-fotha started like a house on fire in the opening minutes, Bantu started off slowly trying to get settled in the opening exchanges of the match.

‘A MatÅ¡o Matebele’ as Bantu is affectionately known, had their first chance 15 minutes into the game but the chance was missed by Itumeleng Falene.

The visitors began to find their feet thereafter and soon found the back of the net when Sefotha-fotha goalkeeper Lefu Feboho found himself in no man’s land in the 20th minute as Sefali slotted the ball in.

Thereafter, Bantu was dominating proceedings while the home side was struggling to breakdown their opponents’ defence. A few minutes before the break, Tšepo Setumane was introduced as an injury induced substitution replacing striker Motlalekhotso Lerotholi.

In the second half, Sefotha-fotha introduced Teboho Mohale for Tumelo Maine while Bantu responded by bringing in Neo Mokhachane and Jane TÅ¡otleho for Lehlohonolo Fothoane and Mokone Marabe respectively.

On the strike of 70minutes, Bantu got the second goal through Sefali as he completed a brace just before being rested and replaced by Katiso Selili while Hlopho Kalake was substituted for Motlomelo Mkwanazi.

In another game at the same venue, fifth placed Lioli edged league strugglers Swallows 2-1 while elsewhere on the same day, log-leaders Matlama, continued their winning streak with a 1-0 win over LDF. Matlama have now gone 13 games without a loss winning 11 and getting only two draws since May 2021.

Kick4Life and LMPS played to a goalless draw at LCS Ground while LCS beat Liphakoe 1-0 at the same venue, meanwhile, CCX and Lifofane also played to a goalless stalemate in Hlotse.
