POSITION: MANAGING DIRECTOR (MD)
QUEEN MAMOHATO MEMORIAL HOSPITAL (QMMH)
- POSITION OVERVIEW
Job Title: Managing Director (MD)
Location: Queen Mamohato Memorial Hospital
Reporting to: Director General of Health Services (MOH)
- PURPOSEOF THE ROLE
The MD is responsible for providing strategic leadership, operational management, operational performance and financial oversight to ensure Queen Mamohato Memorial Hospital operates efficiently, delivers high-quality healthcare services, and remains financially sustainable. The MD will drive the hospital’s mission, upon corporate governance, and foster a patient-centered culture.
- KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leading hospital management and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.
- Developing and executing long-term strategies in collaboration with the board of directors.
- Managing operational, financial and clinical activities.
- Ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and policies.
- Building strong relationships with stakeholders including patients, staff, government bodies and the community.
- Driving innovation in healthcare delivery and patient services.

4. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Hospital Management, Medicine or related field.
- Minimum 10 years of leadership experience in hospital or healthcare management. Business administration will be an added advantage.
- Proven track record in financial management, strategic planning, and operational leadership.
- Knowledge of Lesotho healthcare regulations, policies, and industry trends.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, communication, fundraising and stakeholder management skills.
- Successful results in psychometric assessment.
5. KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIS)
- Financial Performance: Revenue growth cost control and profitability
- Operational Efficiency: Bed occupancy rate, patient turnover, and service delivery.
- Quality of Care: Compliance with health regulations patient safety metrics, and accreditation standards.
- Employment Engagement: Staff retention, training completion and satisfaction scores.
6. CONTRACT TERMS AND CONDITIONS
- Employment type:Â Three (3) years renewable contract based on performance
- Probation Period:Â Â Six (6) months
- Performance Review: Bi-annual
- Salary and Benefits: COMPETITIVE REMUNERATION PACKAGE
