We are looking for the following skill: Head of Credit Designate

Contract Type: Permanent

To be responsible for organisation wide oversight of credit and leading the strategy for Credit Risk as well as directing independent comprehensive credit review and risk assessment of the customer risk profile and credit decision making for all segments and products of the organisation.

  • A degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Mathematics /Statistics or equivalent
  • Masterโ€™s in Business Administration would be an added advantage

๐„๐ฑ๐ฉ๐ž๐ซ๐ข๐ž๐ง๐œ๐ž

  • 10 yearsโ€™ experience in Risk/Credit/Credit Risk within Financial Services with a minimum of 5 yearsโ€™ experience at a senior management level
  • Designing and building risk operations models and credit scoring metrics to reduce credit losses

Certifications

Professional qualifications e.g. CFA, FRM, CIRM, CRCM or ICM preferable

  • Strong knowledge of lending principles and credit management in financial services environment
  • Strong understanding of Credit analysis and policies.
  • Good understanding of Risk Management principles.
  • Thorough understanding of the evolving practices for the management of credit risk and regulatory requirements
  • Capable of professional discussions with internal and external stakeholders, for the geographies in which the Group operates.
  • Knowledge of Banking law, rules and regulations
  • Should have thorough knowledge in various facets of Credit administration including processing of proposals, credit analysis and restructuring.
  • Support Book growth and building team work with sales.
  • Adequate understanding of Credit Impairment, Scoring models.

  • Leads initiatives for development of methodologies for measurement of Credit Portfolio Management across the Group and associated models/ processes
  • Drives the development and implementation of the Groupโ€™s credit risk framework and processes including credit origination, credit appraisal and approval, credit administration, credit monitoring, control, robust collateral documentation, credit disbursements and collections
  • Develops and enhances the Credit Reporting & Monitoring framework which meets the requirements of various external & internal stakeholders.
  • Participates in carrying out the responsibilities pertaining to Board Risk Committee which includes preparation of the information pack and responding to data/ analytical requests from the Committee
  • Provides requirements and design inputs, particularly with regard to credit risk recognition, measurement, and its reporting as part of the core team for implementation of key credit risk related projects (e.g. Credit Management System, IFRS 9 impairment)
  • Provides recommendation or approve credit application and borrower rating requested by front line to create good quality of portfolio with benefits to company
  • Conducts regular review and monitoring of credit risk models and liaise with model validation during its annual model validation cycle
  • Maintains robust monitoring of macroeconomic trends and emerging credit risks, competitive landscape and credit portfolio performance to generate insights that inform risk appetite, financial forecasting and business decisions.
  • Develops credit risk management and scorecard analytics which meet the needs of the organization, in order to support effective decision making and enhance the risk frameworks
  • Partners with Country Risk function and other control functions including Internal Audit to ensure programme alignment with minimum duplication and no material gaps in risk management (combined assurance).
  • Ensures compliance with external regulatory or legal bodies on credit risk management matters
