People’s Choice FM has suspended one of its popular disc jockeys, Bafokeng Ramoseeli, popularly known as DJ Bootz.
According to a source close to the matter, the radio station management suspended DJ Bootz due to an unspecified operational issue.
“He felt he was being treated unfairly on an operational matter; something he did not complain to the management about but was caught venting to a colleague,†the source said.
“He was not aware that while he was venting to a colleague, the person was on a Facebook live video, and that is where one of the management personnel caught him.â€
Furthermore, the source hinted that the popular DJ is facing an uncertain future at the radio station as the station management is seriously considering his future. It is unclear what the DJ was caught saying on the live video.
The DJ has been evidently missing from his regular weekday afternoon “mansion afternoon drive,†show which he co-hosts with Lebo “Maboomboom†Tikoe. As a result of his suspension, Maboomboom has been riding solo in recent days.
When contacted for comment on the matter, Dj Bootz declined to talk, refusing to be drawn into either confirming or denying it.
DJ Boots is one of the longest-serving radio hosts on PC FM having started as a graveyard host in 2004 and worked his way up the ladder into being one of the prominent voices in the prime slot on Lesotho’s commercial radio station.
The PC FM management was not available to comment on the matter both on calls and messages sent to them.
