The Econet Rugby League (ERL) lit up the past weekend with fierce battles and dominant displays, with Mabote Beavers stealing the spotlight with a 40-0 thrashing of Mabita Gorillasin the men’s division.

The Beavers asserted their authority early, heading into halftime with a 19-0 lead before piling on more pressure in the second half.

Their unrelenting pace, tactical discipline, and rock-solid defense left the Gorillas with no answers by full time.

In the women’s division, NUL Spears Ladies delivered an equally impressive performance, shutting out Maseru Warriors Ladies 17-0. The Spears controlled the tempo from start to finish, showing both defensive resilience and attacking precision.

However, it was a different story in the men’s clash between the same clubs. After trailing by just two points at the break, the Maseru Warriors found another gear in the second half, pulling away to secure a 29-19 victory over NUL Spears. The Warriors’ fitness and structured play proved decisive as the game wore on.

The anticipated women’s matchup between Mabote Beavers Ladies and Mabita Gorillas Ladies was forfeited. The Gorillas were awarded a 28-0 win by default, leaving fans disappointed by the missed contest.

The next round of ERL fixtures is set for tomorrow (Saturday), where Liqhomane Ladies will take on LesothoRugby Academy Ladies at 14:20, followed by the men’s fixture between the same clubs at 15:00.
