The ‘Manthabiseng Convention Centre will come alive with the sound of praise on 23 August when Nthabiseng Florah Makhanya ‘Mapitse, known to her fans as Nthabiseng Florah, hosts the Lesotho edition of the highly anticipated “To The King Live Recording.”
Presented by Lanco Media House, the event promises to be an unforgettable night of worship, inspiration, and unity for gospel lovers across the Mountain Kingdom and beyond.
Speaking to Newsday, Nthabiseng shared the heartfelt story behind the event’s name.
“I was torn between calling it ‘About the King’ or ‘For the King’,” she recalled.
“But I realised it is not about me, it is To the King. God is using me as a vessel to create a platform for Himself. The aim is to bring his people to him, to let them cast their burdens, struggles, pain, and gratitude at His feet.”
She referenced the Bible verse, “Cast all your burdens to me because I, the Lord, care for you,” explaining that this scripture perfectly captures the essence of the gathering.
This year’s “To The King” will have two editions: the first in Lesotho and the second in South Africa on 16 December 2025. Nthabiseng said the Lesotho edition is particularly special because it marks a homecoming for her as a Mosotho.
“Ke Mosotho oa Lesotho la Basotho,” she said proudly. “Hosting this event in my country warms my heart. God did not position me here without a purpose, and I believe this is part of that calling.”
The event will not only celebrate local talent but also connect Lesotho to the wider gospel community in Southern Africa. The star-studded line-up includes Lesotho’s own Minister Spokes and Rorisang Motsamai, alongside South African gospel powerhouses Robrina Manyaga, Tsiko Mal, Newie, Tumi B, and Courage Munangiwa, as well as Eswatini’s Bafundzie Mavuso.
With this blend of local and international acts, audiences can expect a night of dynamic performances and heartfelt ministry.
In addition to hosting, Nthabiseng will use the evening to record and debut brand new songs, many of which will be heard for the first time on that stage.
“It is not about the performance. I want people to live knowing there is a God in heaven who loves and cares for them. My hope is that they go home different, spiritually and physically and knowing that God can change their lives.”
She ended with an invitation rooted in a beloved Sesotho hymn, “Se teng seliba sa mali” (There is a fountain filled with blood), urging everyone to come to the “well” regardless of their situation.
“Whether you are in pain or at peace, come and experience the goodness of God,” she said.
