Lesotho Electricity Generation Company (LEGCO) – Vacancy: Driver

Lesotho Electricity Generation Company (LEGCO) invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of a Driver on a fixed term contract

        The Responsibilities of the Driver shall include:

• Ensure that LEGCO fleet is clean and roadworthy
• Check vehicles requirements and maintain their records properly (log books)
• Ensure proper management of service and other maintenance schedules and report any faults.
• Ensure the safety and comfort of passengers, assist with luggage, and represent the company with a professional demeanor.
• Act as a Messenger and safely pick and/or deliver official documents, parcels and mail to intended recipients while maintaining dispatch records.
• Drive office vehicles for transportation of authorized personnel and delivery/collection of official goods/cargo and ensure that they are safely delivered to their destinations.
• Ensure that LEGCO requirements are adhered to in case of accidents and/or emergencies.
• Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections, monitor fluid levels (oil, water), tire pressure, and ensure that routine servicing is scheduled.
• Support and assist the office in performing registry-related duties and messaging services.
• Make distribution of correspondence material to appropriate persons and or offices.
• Provide logistical support to Administration Officer in the organization and prepare for all workshops, meetings and events.
• Ensure compliance with traffic laws and that the vehicle is always fueled.

Job Specifications and Requirements

The incumbent must have a minimum qualification of C.O.S.C. Certificate plus a Driver’s License and Defense Driving with at least 5 years driving experience.

OR

Standard 7 plus Driver’s License and Defensive driving with at-least 10 years driving experience.

NB:    Standard Pass from Assessment test done by Department of Traffic & Transport is pre-requisite and the potential candidate must possess good interpersonal skills and be a good team player.
