The stage has been set for a lit A-Division soccer fiesta through the publicizing of the Top-8 Quarter Finals draw which was done at the Lesotho Football headquarters, Bambatha TÅ¡ita Sports Arena in Maseru a week ago.
The A-Division Management Committee (ADMACO) set the stage for some exciting match-ups between the division’s top performing sides, to take place in a few weeks’ time. For instance, A-Division Southern Stream champions, Machokha, will take on Litšito from the Northern Stream while the Northern Stream Champions Galaxy were drawn against Naughty boys. ACE Maseru will lock horns with Lilemela with Qacha’s Nek LMPS set to take on the vibrant and exciting Limkokwing University.
The action is set for the last day of this month with the final penned for the following day.
Meanwhile, upon completion of the Top-8, the Champion of Champions (Champ of Champs) game between the winners of the two streams will take place between Machokha and Galaxy on May 15, 2022.
All the games are scheduled to be played at the Bambatha TÅ¡ita Sports grounds in Maseru, and the Lesotho Football Association (LeFA) is the sole sponsor of the two competitions this year in the absence of the previous sponsor Nedbank.
In May 2019 Nedbank was announced as the new sponsor for the Top-8 and Champ of Champs where they were set to inject M250 000 annually for three years into the competition.
However, the sponsorship only lasted a year after the tournament was scrapped-off in 2020 and 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Earlier this year Nedbank made ADMACO aware that due to the financial challenges brought about by the pandemic, they would not be injecting money into the competitions, hence the ADMACO executive looked to LeFA.
