A food extravaganza dubbed Kota Festival will for the first time, tingle the taste buds of local foodies at Maseru Club on November 2.
Originally from South Africa, the Kota Festival is a food event meant to bring people together to spend time and enjoy the food, while enjoying musical performances.
The event is brought to Lesotho by Vibe Productions in partnership with Goldex Entertainment from South Africa.
The festival, which is scheduled to start at 10 AM and end at 10 PM, will also feature kota-eating contests for food lovers with the winner set to get a prize courtesy of one of the sponsors, Score Striker.
Xolani Machele, the owner of the Kota Festival brand told journalists in Maseru this week that a line-up of local and international artists to perform at the event was being finalized.
We have local artists from Lesotho and international artists, but we do not announce those artists, it’s more like a surprise, he said.
The organisers also plan to host a three-month workshop for those interested in learning the skill of how to make a mean kota or improve their existing culinary skills.
On the day of the Kota Festival, there will be a kota-eating competition for food lovers, maybe five guys on stage, and be given time to finish the Kota, the winner will get a prize from the Score Striker, he said.
The organisers are currently in talks with prospective sponsors to join the festival.
