Team Leader, Lesotho ACDI/VOCA is seeking a Team Leader for an anticipated program in Lesotho funded by Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC). The Team Leader will provide leadership, oversight, and advice on all aspects of program performance. They will support program planning and development and ensure the availability of resources, serving as a primary contact with project staff and sub-consultants. They will also aid in the production of quarterly and annual work plans and payment schedules while guaranteeing the timely submission and quality of all reports, materials, publications and other deliverables or products. The program is anticipated to start in 2023 and this position is based in Lesotho. Responsibilities • Provide technical advice and direction to the activity team to ensure the achievement of goals and objectives in line with annual plans • Establish and manage systems to ensure cohesion across all technical sectors of the activity • Oversee day-to-day planning, design, and operations of technical teams to ensure effective implementation • Ensure technical interventions are integrated, layered, and sequenced appropriately at all levels of implementation within the activity • Oversee the activity’s financial oversight and procedures, ensuring compliance with established ACDI/VOCA’s accounting principles and MCC regulations • Supervise the development of work plans, reports, financial documents, logistical matters, and others in coordination with the home office as needed • Prepare and/or assist in the preparation of reports and documents to the donor, national governments, ACDI/VOCA home office, and other partner organizations • Ensure quality control and timeliness of all deliverables • Identify issues and risks related to program implementation in a timely manner and suggest appropriate program adjustments • Manage relationships with counterparts at various levels of government and the private sector, including Ministries, research institutions, financial institutions, NGOs, producer associations, and stakeholders from international assistance projects Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, economics, business administration, international development, or relevant field required; master’s degree preferred. • Minimum 8 years of work experience in international development, preferably in a horticulture, agricultural or market systems context. • Previous experience as a Team Leader, Project/Component Lead, or similar senior management position for projects in Lesotho is highly desired. • ​Proven ability to collaborate successfully with host-country government officials, international donors, non-government organizations, financial institutions, and agriculture and private sector stakeholders. • Fluency in English required.
