Invitation for Bids

Supply, delivery and lease of Medical Equipment (IFB No.: GoL/MOH/G001/2026/27)

  1. The Government of the Kingdom of Lesotho intends to utilize its funds (2026/2027 Recurrent Budget) towards the cost of Procurement of medical equipment (Automated tissue processor (1), coagulation analyzers (1) and Anaesthesia workstation machine (1) for the Ministry of Health.
  • The Principal Secretary for the Ministry of Health now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the Supply delivery and lease of medical equipment for the Ministry of Health.

  • Bids must be delivered to the address above on or before July 23rd, 2026 on/before 11:00 a.m. Late bids will be rejected. All bids must be accompanied by a bid security of 1.5% (1.5 percent) of the bid amount in the form of Insurance Bond, or a bank draft, and or a bank guarantee from a reputable financial institution valid for thirty (30) days beyond the validity of the bid.
  • A complete set of bidding documents may be purchased by interested bidders at the above address and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of (M500.00) five hundred Maloti only. The method of payment will be cash payable at:

  • It is mandatory for bidders to submit the following valid documents: (a) Tax Clearance Certificates; (b) Trader’s License (c) Bid security, (d) Valid manufacture authorization letter, (e) power of attorney and bonafide certificate signed and stamped. These documents shall either be originals or certified copies from the source. Non- compliance with this requirement shall invalidate a bid.

Specification: Automated Tissue Processor

1. General Requirements

  • Fully automated enclosed tissue processors for histopathology applications.
  • Suitable for routine surgical pathology, biopsies, and large tissue specimens.
  • Microprocessor-controlled operation with programmable processing schedules.
  • Vacuum-assisted tissue processing technology.

2. Capacity

  • Minimum processing capacity: 300–400 standard tissue cassettes per run.
  • Multiple basket system accommodating standard histology cassettes.
  • Capability to process various tissue sizes and specimen types.

3. Processing Features

  • Vacuum and pressure infiltration system.
  • Automated reagent transfer.
  • Programmable agitation of reagents.
  • Multiple user-defined and pre-installed processing protocols.
  • Delayed start and automatic completion functions.

Preferred specification for tender:

The tissue processor shall be floor-standing with dimensions not exceeding 100 cm (W) × 100 cm (D) × 200 cm (H).

  • Qualifications requirements for award include amongst others: (a) business experience of not less than five years in similar jobs, (b) successful completion of similar contracts of not less than M5,000 000.00 in the past five years. Additional details are provided in the Bidding Documents.
