Sotho Kids Culture Agency celebrated three years of its existent with a first-of-its-kind award ceremony on Sunday at Elibo Guest House.

The ceremony served inter alia to honour those models, artists and management who are part of and have made the model agency what it is today.

According to the founder of the agency Makhebe Seatlana, the agency which began in 2019 was geared towards helping the youth of the country to realise their artistry and live their dreams.

“The aim of the agency is not only for our models to live their dreams but make a living while at it because even though I started it, with time I realized that a lot of young people can also sustain themselves financially through their talents,” Seatlana said, adding “since I started this agency in 2019, we have been getting bookings for different gigs whereby we get paid and all these models get paid”.

Amongst other things that the agency provides are ushering at various events, runway modeling for fashion shows and photo shoots for adverts campaigns.

Seatlana highlighted his vision of one day seeing the agency being available and accessible in all the districts of Lesotho.

“One day in the near future, I would like to see this agency be available to all the aspiring creatives and models across the country because ours is to revive the Basotho culture and pride amongst young people,” he said.

The awards had five categories which included best newcomer won by Limpho Sehalahala, artist of the year won by Omali Themba, with best male model award taken by Pule TÅ¡ira, TÅ¡epang Khuze was awarded female model of the year and Sebabatso Litlali walked away with the big one, most hardworking model.

At the same event a new executive committee was announced which vowed to take the agency to even greater heights

“My hope is that this year with the new committee we will work harder than we did in the past year so that we get to achieve all the goals we have set for ourselves as the management of the agency,” said Litlali, who has assumed the responsibility of new Manager.

One of the winners, singer Omali Themba, said of his victory and the strides made since becoming part of Sotho Kids, he has managed to achieve his dreams in a very short space of time and it is only the beginning.

“This award will always be a constant reminder of the journey I have travelled and inspire the goal I still have because this is just the beginning,” said Omali Themba.

Meanwhile, the event was graced by the presence of the Deputy Prime-Minister Mathibeli Mokhothu, the Member of Parliament for Stadium Area Mokherane Tsatsanyane, International author Bothata Kennedy Silase and parents of the models.

There were performances by some of the agency’s artists such as Morena Sway, Mothula Tšepe the poet, Raqwe the comedian and CrazyT.
