Job Description:
Job Summary
Provide technical support to shape and strengthen WV Lesotho child protection, Faith and Development, advocacy and Justice for children agenda geared towards influencing public policy for improved service delivery in different sectors through citizen empowerment and mobilization. Promote meaningful child participation on issues that concern children in the communities.
Key Responsibilities:
Advocacy and Justice for Children :100%
- Implement key advocacy, gender equality and social inclusion (GESI) Child Protection and advocacy models in the AP’s of WVL such as Child protection minimum standards, Citizen Voice and Action (CVA) through capacity enhancement to relevant structures at the AP and cluster.
- Facilitate integration of the crosscutting themes into TP’s through proper planning, monitoring and budget management. These include child protection, Faith and Development, Advocacy, partnering and gender equality and social inclusion among others.
- Enhance partnership with relevant internal and external stakeholders to advocate for policy influence and implementation for improved service delivery in different sectors at the local and cluster level.
- Document and share evidence to increase WV engagement in public policy and advocacy process to inform resource mobilization and national level advocacy initiatives.
- Enhance capacity of AP staff and communities to ensure that they understand and follow World Vision Safe guiding policy, respond promptly and appropriately to child protection incidents and reporting to relevant structures and on Ethics point and follow cases until closure.
- Strengthen Child Protection and participation initiatives at local and district level and ensure implementation of children’s ideas by different role players at the local and district level.
- Provide quality reports (monthly, semi and annual) to the relevant line Mana as per the World Vision reporting guidelines.
- Ensure that all staff sign Safe guiding Policy and volunteers within the clusters and that new staff members receive a minimum of 1-hour orientation on Safe guiding Policy. Ensure that parents sign compliance Consent forms prior to child participation in WVL activities and ensure signing of the policy by all the concerned parties.
- Engage actively in resource mobilization for cross cutting themes initiatives including it takes the world to end violence against children global campaign.
- Improve staff Spiritual Formation and promote Kingdom values and spiritual growth at the AP and cluster level utilizing different approaches such as COH for CP for Gender, HIV/AIDS and MNCH, Empowered World View, Celebrating Families and Jesus source of the living water.
- Sponsorship SOIs maintained in green in Cluster APs for 12 months. All the correspondence such as Introductory Letters (ILs), Sponsor letters, queries, and Gift Notifications (GNs) to be examined to ensure quality communication between the sponsor and the child and take into consideration timely submission as per standards every time.Â
- Ensure that AP staff and children work together to compile, design and fill Christmas cards and Annual Progress Report (APR,) ensuring that at least 98 % of each correspondence is sent to sponsors before agreed cut off dates such as Child Update Photos, Videos and child Expression Worksheets (CUP, CUV and CEW)
- Ensure quality review of Horizon captured Rich Media files (child and community) before importing into Horizon or submitting to Global Centre such as Child Greetings Video, Community Introductory Videos, Community Update Photos (CGV , YIV, YUP, CUP.CUV,CEW)
- Maintain quality check for all RCs. Ensure 95% of data quality thought the year Â
- Timely submission of all the reports as per standards to be taken into consideration every time such as including Special reports, MMR (Child Deaths), child abuse cases and child marriage, GN reconciliation reports
- Facilitate trainings, rollout and monitoring of GC Sponsorship initiatives in Cluster  APs
- Develop integrated activity plan, share with AP’s, monitor and report progress in Horizon
- Promote Children’s participation and input into key decision making process.
- Provide mentoring and coaching support to all CDFs  for better performance Â
- Plan and implement sponsorship activities that will improve the quality of life of boys and girls to realize child well-being outcomes
- Ensure the RC death mitigation plan is facilitated.
Qualifications and Experience:
– Bachelor’s degree in social sciences/management/Adult Education with a thorough understanding of sponsorship operations gained through at least 3 years of experience in the related field.
OR
– Diploma in social Sciences/Management/Adult Education with a thorough understanding of sponsorship operations gained through at least 5 years of experience in the related field.
