Music lovers in Maseru will be in for a magical night when NthetheSekoli, known by Allegro Africa takes centre stage at the ‘Manthabiseng Convention Centre on June 27, 2026.
Dubbed Allegro Africa in Concert, the event is set to redefine Lesotho’s entertainment landscape by blending the high-energy world of DJ culture with the sophistication of live musical performance.
Headlining the show, which will also feature a diverse lineup of local talent, including Mookho Moqhali, Morena Sway and Victor Rapitse among others, Allegro will deliver a specially curated set featuring a string quartet, a four-piece live band, percussion and multiple vocalists.
He described this ambitious production as the first of its kind in the country. And to maintain a vibrant atmosphere throughout the evening, DJ Khebza and DJ Fivo will entertain guests in the foyer during performance intervals.
“A DJ performing with a live band in itself is already something that has never been seen before here. But now we are adding a four-piece band, a string quartet and vocalists all at the same time. That is an experience that has never been done,” he said.
He explained that the idea evolved over time as he experimented with incorporating vocalists into his performances, before being further developed in collaboration with event organiser Rethabile Hlalele, who introduced the string quartet element.
“The Allegro Africa concert has been a concept that I have had since the days of Zagro DJs where I wanted us to be joined with a live band on stage. That is when the whole idea changed to say, let us actually make it a night of elegance and create a full experience out of it,” he said.
The event is also designed to offer a full experience across the entire venue, as guests will be welcomed into a lively foyer space with music, food and drinks, as well as opportunities to socialise and network, before moving into the main auditorium for the headline performances.
“My vision is mostly in the eyes of my audience. People will be able to enjoy music, take pictures, connect with others and fully immerse themselves in the experience.”
The event will also include interactive features such as a photo booth, allowing attendees to capture and share their experiences on social media.
Tickets for the event are priced at M500 and will be available at Pick n Pay stores and online via TicktBox. Organisers have encouraged early booking, with flexible payment options introduced to make the event accessible to a wider audience.
“My target audience is everyone. We want people from all walks of life to come and experience this. Everyone should be part of it and be able to tell the story.”
Beyond entertainment, Allegro said the concert aims to inspire growth and creativity within Lesotho’s music industry, which he believes needs renewed energy and motivation.
“I am not doing it to be called the first to do it, but to spark inspiration in the industry. We need to challenge ourselves to do better, to create more and to inspire the next generation of artists.”
He also highlighted the importance of showcasing local talent and fostering national pride through production.
“This is purely Basotho ,from the music to the instrumentalists, the organisers and the artists. It is a celebration of what we can achieve as a country,” he said.
While there have been discussions about making the concert a recurring event, he noted that the immediate focus is on delivering a memorable debut.
