The Vodacom Premier League (VPL) team Linare FC is in the process of finding a new head coach following the departure of Leslie Notši, who has been at the helm since the beginning of the 2022/23 season.
Notši, who simultaneously served as the caretaker coach for the national senior team, Likuena, since June 2023, will now dedicate his full attention to the national team.
The club officially announced Notši’s exit, expressing gratitude for his significant contributions.
The club noted that Notši has played a pivotal role in its journey mentioning that his commitment and expertise greatly benefited them.
They indicated that the coach led the team to notable achievements, including ushering them to a second-place finish last season.
“We are deeply thankful for his impact on the team and the club as a whole,” Linare FC stated.
He leaves Linare in a respectable seventh position on the log with 25 points from seven wins, four draws and four losses.
Notši joined Linare at the beginning of the 2022/23 season, leading the club to a second-place finish.
“Coach Leslie Notsi has been an integral part of our club, contributing significantly to our success and growth during his tenure. His dedication, professionalism, and passion for the sport have left an indelible mark on our organisation, and we are sincerely grateful for the positive impact he has had on both the players and the entire club.
“His achievements which include but are not limited to leading the club to finish second place at the end of the 2022/2023 season cannot go unnoticed and appreciated by the club,” Linare said in a statement.
“As we embark on this new chapter, we want to express our gratitude to Notši for his hard work, commitment, and the positive culture he has instilled in the team. The decision to part ways was not made lightly, and we believe it is the right step to ensure growth on his part and the continued progress and success of our club.
“Our search for a new head coach is already underway, and we are confident that we will find the right individual to lead the team into the future,” the statement reads.
Linare’s Communications and Marketing Manager, ‘Matlhohonolofatso Connie Lebesa said the club is currently led by assistant coaches Tente Molapo and Freeze Ntene, while the goalkeeper coach is Daniel Hlao and Physical Trainer is Liteboho Mahase.
