Econet Telecom Lesotho’s (ETL)’s subsidiary, Sasai Econet Financial Services, has concluded its successful EcoCash Loyalty Campaign, a 10-month competition aimed at rewarding users of its mobile money platform, EcoCash, with prizes worth over M250,000.
The campaign, which ran from September 2022, celebrated and incentivised EcoCash customers for their transactions and engagement on the platform, including bill payments, merchant transactions, bundle purchases, and money transfers.
Throughout the campaign, customers accumulated points with each transaction, offering them the opportunity to either redeem the points for cash or enter into the competition’s final draw.
In a recent lively prize-giving ceremony, ten lucky EcoCash customers were presented with a variety of cash rewards.
TÅ¡epang Twala, the grand prize winner, walked away with a substantial M20,000 cash prize. Additionally, four first-prize winners each secured M4,000, while five second-prize winners celebrated with M2,500 cash rewards.
Expressing his gratitude for the grand prize, Twala said: “I have been using EcoCash for a long time to pay bills because it has brought convenience to our lives.
“I urge everyone to use it in order to win, too. I promise you, if this competition comes back next year, you will see my face again, and probably with a bigger cash pay-out.â€
‘Malefalo Motseki, one of the first-prize winners, revealed her surprise at progressing so far in the competition, especially since she was a first-time participant.
Motseki encouraged others to join the next edition of the competition for a chance to experience success like her own.
Paulinah Moreira, ETL’s EcoCash Sales and Distribution Manager, shared the impact of the campaign, stating: “We have been able to give away over M200,000 worth of cash and grocery prizes to our valued customers from the beginning of the competition.â€
“As the campaign ends, ten more customers have pocketed nearly M50,000 cash from EcoCash Spache-Fono that falls under a Sasai Econet Financial Services mobile money service,†Moreira said.
She emphasised the importance of engaging customers and offering them meaningful rewards.
ETL’s Manager of Customer Experience and Public Relations, Puleng ‘Mathabo Masoabi, expressed immense gratitude for the campaign’s success and its positive impact on the community.
