Econet Telecom Lesotho’s (ETL) newly unveiled smartphone is set to redefine mobile connectivity in Lesotho.
Dubbed Econet Prime, the state-of-the-art, pocket-friendly smartphone promises to revolutionise how people connect and interact with technology in Lesotho. The unveiling, which took place earlier this week, marked a significant milestone in the evolution of mobile technology in the country.
Addressing the media during the launch, ETL’s Public Relations Manager Puleng ‘Mathabo Masoabi described Econet Prime as more than just a smartphone – it is a gateway to enhanced connectivity, unparalleled innovation, and a seamless user experience.
“ETL invites everyone to join the revolution and experience the future of connectivity with Econet Prime,” Masoabi said.
“Econet Prime is currently available for M1,100 until the end of July. This smartphone features 2GB RAM, 64GB memory, 13MP rear and 8MP front cameras, a 6.52-inch HD screen, a 4000mAh battery, a USB-C charger, fingerprint and facial recognition, and dual SIM capabilities. It includes 2GB of free data each month for the first three months,” Masoabi added.
Makhakhe Makafane, ETL’s Manager of Trade Marketing highlighted Econet Prime’s design which is catered to modern users, offering advanced connectivity with lightning-fast internet speeds for seamless streaming, downloading, and browsing.
“With a high-performance processor and ample RAM, Econet Prime ensures smooth multitasking and rapid response times, perfect for both work and play,” Makafane stated.
“Its enhanced camera capabilities allow users to capture every moment in stunning detail, while the powerful battery ensures all-day connectivity. Advanced security features such as facial recognition and fingerprint scanning safeguard user data,” he added.
General Manager Sales and Services Lebohang Ramaisa emphasized ETL’s commitment to enabling Basotho, even in low-income sectors, with access to developments in the cyber world.
