Under the bright, autumn skies of a busy Maseru city, resolute Kick4Life Women’s Football Club (FC) have etched their names in the annals of ladies’ football history.

Their coronation as the 2024/25 Women’s Super League champions with one match to go is more than just a victory, it is a statement, a transformation and a moment of poetic justice in the beautiful game.

For nearly a decade, Kick4Life flirted with glory, coming close by finishing third, then second, but the title always slipping through their fingers. It was not until 2025 that they finally pulled it off.

They did not just win; they dismantled expectations, toppled giants, and rewrote the narrative. Gone are the days when LDF Ladies, last season’s all-conquering queens, seemed untouchable. In their place, a new monarch has risen, crafted not by legacy, but by grit, sweat, and unshakable belief.

“Our success this season began in the pre-season,” said coach Elizabeth Yelimala, the tactical mind behind this transformation.

In football, they say titles are won on the training pitch, and Yelimala knew it. By June 2024, while others were still recovering from the previous campaign, Kick4Life were already on the grind, sprinting, passing, building cohesion, sharpening minds.

“We focused on speed and quick transitions from defense to attack,” she added. “Our game strategy was built around rapid ball movement and exploiting our fast and agile forwards.”

The result is an unbeaten run across 17 matches, 14 victories, and not a single loss. The numbers dazzle, but it is the spirit of this team that truly captivates.

Team captain Lisebo Lesaoana remembers last season well, a year riddled with challenges, departures, and uncertainty.

“We lost many players to international opportunities,” she recalled. “But this year, everything came together.”

They did not just weather the storm; they danced in the rain. Every goal, every clean sheet, every comeback, they were building something. And now, they wear their first-ever league title like a crown of thorns turned gold.

For young talents like Matšeliso Mosala, the journey has been deeply personal. From the junior ranks to the senior squad, her story mirrors the club’s evolution – patient, determined, always moving forward.

“Moving to the senior team was a big challenge because the training was much tougher,” Mosala shared. “But I stayed committed because of my passion for football.”

That passion is now infectious. With the title secured, Kick4Life are heading to the COSAFA qualifiers, representing not just a club, but a dream for every girl in Lesotho who dares to lace up boots and chase a ball.

Their legacy is already blooming. The club has sent players abroad, to Canada, the USA, and South Africa, and now hopes the next generation will follow in those footsteps.

As the team prepares to wrap up the season against Thaba-Tseka Ladies FC this Sunday, the mood at Kick4Life is celebratory but focused. There’s one more game to honour, and a future to build.

Meanwhile, the once-dominant LDF Ladies reminded fans of their own firepower with a 5–0 thrashing of Bantu Ladies FC. But for now, the throne has shifted, and the name carved into the trophy reads loud and proud: Kick4Life Women FC.

The league table may list fixtures and scores, but this season will be remembered for something richer: the rise of a team that believed, a coach who dared, and a story that proves the crown isn’t inherited. It is earned.
