…ascends cyberspace to please clients

The Lesotho Revenue Authority (LRA) will launch its Client Feedback Tool that is already developed and will be piloted with e-TCC and e-VAT 11 services to be operational from August 1st 2022.

This was disclosed by the Digital Service Manager ‘Makhothatso Khanare who indicated that the benefits of the tool include allowing clients to have a voice.

She said the tool can be used on any device, anywhere anytime.

Khanare outlined that the objectives of the Client Feedback Tool is to help measure client satisfaction, enhance the client experience of online services, to inform management decision making, protect, repair, monitor and manage brand in the online space and strengthen and promote positive online brand reputation.

Meanwhile, Mokhethi Mabeea the Project Manager revealed that they are at 90% progress of the Lesotho Tax Modernization Project which began in July 2018 and was supposed to end in June 2022 but was extended to October 2022.

He indicated that the project belongs to the government with LRA as the executing agency, adding that, the project is looking for mordenisation of Tax processes, to empower LRA staff and looks on legislation to allow Tax law to consent the use of technology.

“To indicate the progress, e-Filling system was developed and has been tested or piloted on other clients. Also the e-Filling for income tax that involves Individual Income Tax (IIT), Company Income Tax (CIT) as well as Withholding Tax has been developed but under testing,” he said.

Mabea stated that, the LRA looks to have a system where their clients will be able to pay their tax electronically working together with the four commercial banks in the country as well as the mobile money operators under the E- Payment solution.
