Majantja Football Club (FC) have named Bafokeng Mohapi as their new coach for the upcoming 2023/24 A-Division League season.

The significant announcement was made during an event held at the Hotel Mount Maluti in Mohale’s Hoek last weekend.

Alongside the coaching appointment, the Mohale’s Hoek-based side introduced a fresh executive committee aimed at fostering growth and unity within the team and its supporters.

NEW EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

The newly appointed executive committee comprises passionate individuals with diverse backgrounds.

Moeti Lekhooana assumes the role of Chairperson, while Phomolo Mantutle serves as Deputy Chairperson. Litšitso Thamae has been appointed as the Secretary-General, and Makhahlo Mohale will handle the treasury responsibilities.

Simon Letsie takes on the role of Directing General Manager, and Rethabile Motšepe has been appointed as the Communications Marketing Manager. Lastly, Morena Ntšie will hold the position of team manager.

VISION FOR CLUB GROWTH

Addressing the attendees at the event, Lekhooana expressed the committee’s commitment to propelling Majantja FC towards greater achievements.

He emphasised the importance of unity among all stakeholders, including players, management, and supporters. “We are going to work together as a team to ensure that Majantja grows,” he said.

Lekhooana outlined the committee’s mandate, which involves securing sponsorships to generate income through the sale of club merchandise.

The funds will help the team cover various expenses, enabling the club to compete at its best during the upcoming league season.

“We are going to make sure that we achieve our mandate, to ensure that we have sponsors that will help us with club merchandise that can be sold to generate income for the team to cover for some of its expenses,” Lekhooana said.

TRANSPORT SUPPORT

Representing the club’s main sponsors, Tšepang Monongoaha from Mdlokovana Motor Spares and Tyres, pledged support for Majantja FC’s transportation needs. Monongoaha assured the club of their commitment to ensure that the team can travel to all ten districts of the country for matches.

Furthermore, he called upon other potential sponsors to join hands with the new committee, contributing to the team’s journey towards success.

The united efforts of sponsors and the club’s management are envisioned to tackle various challenges and elevate the team to new heights.

“We expect more from the new committee than what was done by the previous one. We are not saying they were bad but we just want the best out of the committee for the benefit of the team,” Monongoaha said.

WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT

During the event, former club chairperson Katiso Mohlalisi wished the incoming chairperson Lekhooana, well in his new role.

Mohlalisi acknowledged the challenges of leadership, particularly when results on the field may face scrutiny. He shared his confidence in the new chairperson’s abilities and advised him to prioritise the best interests of the team.

“I wish the new chairperson all the best, and he should know that being a leader is not easy but you will manage as long as you know you only want what is best for the team,” he said.

Mohlalisi also reflected on his tenure as chairperson, highlighting some of his achievements, including the redesigning of Majantja FC’s logo, soon to be officially launched.
