Just over a year since securing a recording deal with Ambitious Entertainment of South Africa, Roma-born rapper Bokang Moleli aka Malome Vector, is living a dream and more. He will be up against Africa’s best musicians at the MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMAs).

MAMAs will be hosted by the Grammy award winning sensation DJ Khaled, on 20 February 2021 in Uganda.

Vector has been nominated for the Listeners Award alongside other African heavyweights such as Tiwa Savage and Ghanaian superstar Sarkodie, who has won many MTV awards before including MAMA for Best Hip Hop in 2014.

Following a successful arrival at Ambitious Entertainment, which boasts an impressive list of notable acts including, La Sauce, Londie London, Miss Pru DJ, La Sauce, Kid Tini, Blaq Diamond, Kraizie and Cici among others, he becomes the first Mosotho to enter the MTV Africa Music Awards.

Before signing with the SA record label, the virtuoso producer recorded a number of hits which placed him on the wanted list including Khosi, Ichu, Nobody and Motho oaka.

The major label deal is pretty incredible for an artist born in a country in which lack of opportunities has left the majority of young men and women stuck in vulnerable and informal employment.

The brilliant musician represents Lesotho in the highly coveted continental show, against an array of Africa top music stars such as Tiwa Savage of Nigeria, ASAPH of Zimbabwe, Sarkodi of Ghana and DBN Gogo of South Africa in the Listeners Choice category.

The 28-year-old singer, songwriter and record producer who hails from Roma in Maseru district is now based in South Africa, and is steadily making a name for himself in that country’s showbiz having made a break into the scenes in the chart-topping hit Price to pay where he was featured Blaq Diamond by Miss Pru.

He is also featured in a couple of songs by SA artistes including Miss Pru DJ – uHulumeni Ft Fakaloice, Blaq Diamond & Manny Yack, Kid Tini – Nana Thola.

He also released his debut single under the new stable in Dumelang featuring Blaq Diamond.

The artiste said he would be delighted to bring the award home.

“I would really be happy if we can bring this award home. This could be the first of many. So please lets vote as many times as we can,” Vector said.

I have loyal supporters who really want to see me shine and that is the main reason why I will never disappoint. I am so ready for 2021 and have several hits in the bag. I therefore plan to drop an album of the year and song of the year, he said.

The nomination on its own makes history for Lesotho and it would be an even bigger feat should he scoop the award.
