Matlama FC remain unbeaten in the Vodacom Premier League (VPL) 2023/24 season, clinching their sixth consecutive win.

The team has dominated the league from the outset and maintained their top position since the season’s start.

However, their flawless run faced a challenge last weekend when they conceded their first goal of the campaign against LDF FC at Ratjomose Ground.

Despite this setback, Matlama FC emerged victorious with a 2-1 score, reaffirming their league leadership.

The encounter with LDF FC tested Matlama FC’s resilience, with the team narrowly escaping their first defeat of the season.

Their remarkable track record against LDF FC, winning six out of their last seven encounters, underscores Matlama FC’s continued dominance in the league, securing seven victories in their last eight meetings.

In other VPL fixtures, Linare FC claimed a 4-1 victory against Ace Maseru FC, Lioli FC secured a 3-1 win over LCS FC, and Bantu FC emerged victorious with a 3-1 score against Machokha FC on Saturday.

Meanwhile, on Sunday, Lifofane FC suffered a 0-1 defeat against Lijabatho FC, LMPS FC secured a 1-0 win over Mononyane FC, Liphakoe FC triumphed 1-0 against Naughty Boys, and CCX faced a 0-2 loss against LU FC.

Notably, LMPS FC remains the sole team in the VPL yet to concede a goal in their six matches, while Bantu FC leads the goal-scoring charts with an impressive tally of 16 goals.

At the bottom of the log, Naughty Boys FC holds the last position, having lost all six matches and conceded a total of 11 goals.

In the realm of top goal scorers, Lemohang Lintša of LU FC holds the top spot with seven (7) goals, followed by Tumelo Khutlang of Lioli FC with six (6) goals, Litšepe Marabe of Bantu FC with five (5) goals, Pheello Sephooana of Linare FC with five (5) goals, Jane Thabantšo of Matlama FC with four (4) goals, and Phillip O’Brien of LCS with four (4) goals.

Looking forward to the weekend’s action, Naughty Boys FC will host Lifofane FC at Leshoboro Stadium, and Mononyane FC will welcome Machokha FC at Nyakosoba Ground on November 18. On November 19, ACE Maseru will host LMPS FC at Ratjomose Ground, Liphakoe FC will entertain CCX FC at LCS Ground, and LU FC will clash with Lioli FC at Bambatha.
