The LDF Ladies football club is feeling the pinch of inaction as they have gone without a match for several weeks, sparking concerns about losing momentum.

Coach Lengana Nkhethoa expressed worries that the team might begin to lose touch with their game due to this prolonged period of inactivity.

“This situation may have a psychological impact on my players because they have been diligently training and preparing for matches, only to be met with obstacles preventing them from playing,” Nkhethoa said.

LDF Ladies’ last match was on February 18, this year, where they faced Mawes Ladies and secured a convincing victory with a scoreline of four goals to nil.

However, subsequent weeks have been marked by frustration and disappointment due to a series of unfortunate events.

The following week, the FIFA break meant no games were scheduled, disrupting the team’s momentum. Their anticipated match against Mphaki High School Ladies had to be abandoned due to adverse weather conditions, further delaying their participation in competitive play.

This past weekend, the team faced yet another setback as their scheduled match against Berea Ladies was cancelled after the opposing team failed to show up.

“This situation is truly disheartening and has significantly disrupted our plans and preparations for the upcoming week,” expressed a frustrated Nkhethoa.

“I have had to adjust our training regimen to ensure that players who have not seen much action are brought up to speed, so we are not left too far behind teams that have been consistently active.”

He further urged the Lesotho Women Super League management to take decisive action against irresponsible behaviour exhibited by other teams.

He emphasised that the league’s growth should not be hindered by negative actions that could set everyone back, potentially impacting the performance of the National Women’s team.

LDF Ladies continue to maintain their top position in the league, remaining undefeated and yet to concede a goal. As defending champions, they are showcasing their dominance on the field.
