The Embassy of the United States in Maseru celebrated the talents of members of Lesotho’s creative industry through musical performances and exhibitions at the Deputy Chief of Mission’s residence last week.
The US Ambassador Maria Brewer indicated that art has an incredible power to broaden communication.
“Art has an incredible power, it transcends borders, communicates universal truths, and serves as a testament to the richness of human expression,” she said.
Brewer also encouraged people to support art as it plays a pivotal role in the country’s economy.
“I encourage each of you to engage with the artists, learn about their inspirations, and appreciate the unique perspectives they bring to the world, to enrich the cultural tapestry of a society, creative industries can also play a pivotal role in fostering economic development,” she said.
Tšepo Mofana, one of the artists featured in the show encouraged people to be relentless in pursuing art no matter the challenges they may encounter.
“It is about heart, what a heart feels is right, you cannot fight it, if you dream about it, if you keep seeing visions about it, you should pursue it, no matter what the universe tells you,” he said.
