Econet Telecom Lesotho (ETL) and its mobile money subsidiary, SasaiEconet Financial Services (SEFS) recently celebrated a major milestone in their HoaKhonahala Festive Campaign after unveiling the first monthly prize winner of the promotion.

Moeketsi Senokoanyane from Ha-Abia walked away M20,000 richer after being announced as the inaugural winner in the campaign’s monthly draw.

The cheque handover took place at Ha-Matala in Maseru last Friday, attracting excitement from local residents and company officials.

Senokoanyane’s win marks the first wave of rewards in the ambitious M6 million promotion, which runs until February 2026. The campaign offers customers across Lesotho a chance to win a range of high-value prizes, including three brand-new Toyota Starlets, cash rewards, smartphones and Smart TVs.

Speaking at the ceremony, ETL’s Acting General Manager for Marketing, Communications and Customer Experience, Puleng ’Mathabo Masoabi, said the milestone reflects ETL and SEFS’s appreciation for their loyal customers and the growing uptake of digital services.

“As SEFS and ETL, we are thrilled to reward Senokoanyane as our first monthly winner. HoaKhonahala is about appreciating the everyday transactions from our highly valued customers,” Masoabi said.

“Each EcoCash transaction or campaign promo bundle purchase brings customers closer to exciting rewards while also playing a key role in driving Lesotho’s digital economy.”

She added that the campaign demonstrates the increasingly transformative role of mobile money in expanding financial inclusion and empowering communities.

“Through our partnership with SEFS, we are ensuring that convenience, security and innovation translate into tangible value for Basotho. HoaKhonahala continues to showcase how loyalty and digital participation can be both empowering and rewarding,” she said.

The M20,000 windfall arrives at a meaningful time for Senokoanyane as the festive season approaches. He described the prize as a “timely blessing.”

The campaign remains active across the country through radio promotions, social media engagement and district activations, where customers can win instant prizes. ETL and SEFS continue to encourage participation through EcoCash transactions and the purchase of promotional bundles.

Customers can enter the draw by purchasing daily, weekly or monthly promo bundles. New users can increase their chances of winning by buying Unlimited WiFi Plus packages or registering for EcoCash or EcoSure.

Existing EcoCash users can participate by transacting through services such as Pay Bill, Send Money, Bank-to-Wallet and Pay Merchant.
