Tšoanelo Mongali from Qacha’s Nek district has emerged as the first ultimate prize winner in Econet Telecom Lesotho (ETL)’s Tobetsa campaign, taking home a brand-new Nissan NP-200 vehicle.
The Tobetsa promotional campaign offers participants a chance to win one of three Nissan NP-200 vehicles, along with cash prizes and smartphones, totaling over M2 million in value.
The campaign, spearheaded by Sasai Econet Financial Services, a subsidiary of ETL, was launched in May 2024 in Botha Bothe and will run until the end of August.
At the award event, Mongali expressed his gratitude for the opportunity.
“I am thrilled to be recognized as a winner of this valuable prize. The vehicle will significantly ease my daily activities. I regularly use EcoCash for my transactions, and I was fortunate to be selected in the draw,” he said.
The event also featured multiple prize giveaways, including gadgets and airtime.
In a media briefing, ETL’s Public Relations Officer, Retšelisitsoe Nkhahle, emphasized the campaign’s role in promoting financial inclusion.
“The EcoCash Tobetsa campaign aims to provide customers with a seamless, secure, and convenient mobile money experience, enhancing financial inclusion and economic participation across Lesotho,” Nkhahle explained.
“The campaign includes various promotional activities, educational programs, and incentives to encourage the use of EcoCash for financial transactions, such as transfers, bill payments, and merchant payments.”
The EcoCash Tobetsa campaign celebrates and promotes EcoCash, Lesotho’s leading mobile money solution, while highlighting ETL’s commitment to improving the lives of its users.
Customers interested in participating can enter the competition by dialing *100# or *199#, or by using the EcoCash App. To boost their chances of winning, customers are encouraged to engage actively with their EcoCash accounts—whether by purchasing exclusive and affordable Tobetsa bundles, paying bills, or making merchant payments.
By doing so, customers will accumulate points that qualify them for entry into a weekly random draw, where they could win cash prizes or one of the three Nissan NP-200 grand prizes.
