The 2024/25 Corporate Champions League season is set to kick off with a grand opening this coming weekend at Moshoeshoe II football grounds.

The event will feature a range of activities, including performances by local artists and entertainment for children.

Sixteen corporate football clubs will embark on their Corporate Champions League journey in style, with fun activities planned for the opening event.

Local performers and DJs, such as Omali Themba and Juvyoa Lepimpara, will entertain the crowd. For children, there will be jumping castles, clowns, horse riding, a play station, face painting, quad riding, and many more exciting activities.

Mpho Pashe, a representative of the Corporate Champions League (CCL), emphasised that this season will be bigger and better, aiming to include everyone in the community, regardless of their social status.

“We have invited officials from the Maseru City Council (MCC) and other prominent figures to show their support for our initiative through sports. We have also created job opportunities for the youth, who will be working as ushers and supporting the participating artists,” Pashe explained.

“We want to see our youth thriving through this initiative. While the adults enjoy football matches and music performances, the kids will have their own section to have fun.”

The first matches of the season will feature Econet Telecom Lesotho (ETL) against Sentebale Gap Funeral, Queen ‘Mamohato Memorial Hospital (QMMH) against North Envy, Team Friends against Kings, Sotho-Kids against Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC), and Camera Man Lesotho against Mateneng. All matches are scheduled to take place at Moshoeshoe II Football Ground from 10:00 AM on September 1, 2024.

The grand opening will be attended by the Maseru Mayor, Motlalepula Sepipi, Member of Parliament Mokherane ‘MCT’ Tsatsanyane, and other guests of honor.

The participating clubs in this season’s league include Econet Telecom Lesotho, FNB Lesotho, Maluti Mountain Brewery, KFC, Alliance Insurance Lesotho, Lesotho Flour Mills, Sentebale Gap Funeral, Sotho Kids, Econo Foods, Team Friends, North Envy, FPL Superstars, Camera Man Lesotho, Mateneng Social Club, Kings, and Four in One Trading Company.
