The Lesotho Football Association (LeFA) is calling on the public to participate in the naming of two of its venues located in Leribe and Mohale’s Hoek.

The two are stadia currently under the management of the national soccer governing body under the auspices of District Football Associations (DiFA) in the respective districts and have, since their completion been referred to in line with their respective DiFAs-Maputsoe DiFA Stadium and Mohale’s Hoek DiFA Stadium respectively.

Speaking from the LeFA Headquarters in Maseru this week, LeFA President Advocate Salemane Phafane KC said it is time that the venues received proper names.

“We have three facilities now that are under our supervision and control that have had artificial turf installed and it is time that we give proper names to these facilities hence we are inviting the public to participate in their naming,” Phafane said.

The process is expected to take three weeks where everyone who has a name to propose is expected to contact the LeFA Secretary-General Mokhosi Mohapi by email to ntatemohapi@yahoo.co.uk or ntatemohapi@lefa.co.ls

“The public is invited to suggest any names but the executive committee of LeFA will have the final say to which names to use for the two facilities just like we did with our headquarters,” said Phafane.

Bambatha TÅ¡ita sports arena where LeFA houses its offices, was also named in similar fashion.

The 3000-capacity in Maputsoe has been a home ground for teams in the north such as Linare and in the past Butha Buthe Warriors and Sandawana, while the 5000-capacity facility in Mohale’s Hoek has been home to the teams in the south such as Majantja and Liphakoe.
