Penya Play unveils new talent

For some time, Penya Play as a record label has been synonymous Megahertz or Ntate Stunna as he has come to be known lately, as the only artist releasing music.

That seems to be a thing of the past now with the label set to introduce a lot of new artists on to the mainstream. This was epitomized in the unveiling of Nthabi Sings as the stable’s newest signing.

The songstress who hails from Botshabelo in South Africa sparked her entrance into the game with a new track titled Pela Pelo which is her first single under the stable.

On the track, the newbie is backed by fellow rookie Mazda Ramollo of KTA Kings fame, Morena Sway and Penya Play founder Ntate Stunna.

In an interview with this publication Ntate Stunna said the new song is one of many to come out of the stable this year.

“This year people can expect a lot from Penya Play in terms of music and fresh new artists. The song is just one of many to come out of the stable and the people should just expect fresh new talent on the cards as you can already hear Nthabi and Mazda. Penya Play is currently pushing new artists,” said Stunna.

Before Ntate Stunna started pushing his career a lot internationally and even moving to South Africa the record label was one of the most consistent in the country with a host of artists that included Royal Jay (Mmateng), Arc Floow, Shana Bouy and Kopper Waleh to name a few.

If the new era of Penya Play is setting the tone for the year so early on, this could be the best musical year Lesotho has seen in recent years.
